The 13th Annual Fort Lauderdale Edition of the OUTshine LGBTQ+ Film Festival will present the Southeast Premiere of the Amazon original movie Mayor Pete on Saturday, October 16th at 7:15 pm. The screening will take place at Savor Cinema with an after party at the Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort Sky Terrace.

"We are very excited to include Mayor Pete as one of the Spotlight Films in our festival," says Victor Gimenez, Executive Director of OUTshine LGBTQ+ Film Festival. "The afterparty will be campaign trail themed! We are very grateful to our friends at the Westin for helping us make it happen."

Mayor Pete brings viewers inside Pete's campaign to be the youngest U.S. President, providing an unprecedented intimacy with the candidate, his husband Chasten, and their ambitious team. From the earliest days of the campaign, to his unlikely, triumphant victory in Iowa and beyond. This film reveals what really goes on inside a campaign for the highest office in the land - and the myriad ways it changes the lives of those at its center. Recently appointed to U.S. Secretary of Transportation, Buttigieg serves as the first openly LGBTQ Cabinet member in U.S. history.

The team at OUTshine LGBTQ+ Film Festival are working with Community Partner Equality Florida to get the word out about this outstanding film and make those politically minded members of the LGBTQ+ community be a part of the experience.
