DJ Alex Lauterstien has just recently released a new CD from the Global Groove series called Chill Out. Listening to the CD just after its release at the first of the month I look back at the interview and realize how well the CD name fits. When I started the interview I asked him right off the bat, who inspired his musical career. "A lot of electronica", he says, some great bands "like Underground, and amazing group in electronica." When he went to NY he started going out and getting into the new music scene. That is what got him started he "enjoys mixing (music) and putting it all together." Chill Out is proof of what this DJ can do.

A little history on Alex; he has an amazing story. He came to NYC on a trip; he was already in school for 7 years to become an architect, he comes to the US to "take a break". Well he never moved back. Alex started his DJ career in NYC and stayed there ever since. In just a few years he started becoming one of the top DJ's. Despite his deep love for music he still has a dream of eventually designing houses.

I asked when he might be in the Tampa area? "There isn't anything booked yet," but if you are interested he will "be at Southern Nights in December." Tampa Bay Gay would love to send a group out there to see him. There is not a way to describe what it will be like to hear him spin live. "I don't want them to expect anything, just know that they are going to have a great night." He has his own remixes of some stuff that is out today that is never heard before. He makes no play list for his nights. "I bring so many records with me, I don't even know what I will play first." He lets the night set the stage for his opening song.

If you are interested in checking out more on Alex Lauterstien he gave me his website www.alexlautersein.com and there is a place you can email him if you want to give him your feedback on his latest CD.
