Those of you that are going to Gay Day(s) in Orlando this weekend (June 2) you will want to schedule your Sunday night right now for DJ Escape at Fortune Park. He will be doing the "After hours 1am-9am" there and if you have hear his CD "Ultimate After hours Volume 2" you know what you are in store for. When I talked with Escape I asked him what is to be expected. "I tend to play a lot of cutting edge stuff...I play a lot of stuff that gets people to move!"

Lets dig a little deeper into this young 24-year-old talented DJ. I asked Escape to tell me a little about his history. He grew up in Queens, NY and began his talent at 13 years old. "I did Hip-Hop and Reggae with DJ Skribble for a while," he says, then "I started doing dance music when I was about 18-19." A lot of the change from a hip-hop format to a dance format was inspired by the man himself Junior Vasquez. "I heard him play at the Palladium, and that is when I decided to change up and I saw what I wanted to do."

"I travel almost every weekend," Escape says. This is what really helps him play what everyone is into. Along with the ability to bring in new music and,"bring in acapellas from familiar songs" with beats maybe some of us haven't heard. This mixing talent goes beyond one record to another, DJ Escape has also, in the past, made his own music, ""Worship me" is one of them, "Everybody get up" is another one, definitely familiar tracks within the clubbers."

In the future DJ Escape may even get into the producers seat. "Not sure of producing in the future... it is a little tough...there are a lot of high (self) expectations." However he is already in the works with a new CD "Party Time 2003", that will come out soon, "a bit more mainstream" however still a wonderful representation of his talent. "I tend to stay away from playing the ordinary," Escape says, and this is evident because he is often considered the next Johnny Vicious.

If you are not going to be able to catch his talents in Orlando this weekend he will also be in South Beach at the former SALVATION in June. If you are interested emailing DJ Escape or if you want to be updated on his Website that is coming soon. His email is djescape@strictly.com.
