Kevin Aviance, the man with catwalk fling, long nails, fierce voice, and a personality of gold. Where does such a talent come from we asked? "I was a fierce-like child born and raised in Richmond, Virginia." His parents are Christians that have been very supportive all of his life, "I was not deprived at all" Kevin says he, "got to experience a lot." He remembers at a very young age having a t-shirt with a star on it, even then he knew he was going to be an entertainer, "I wore that until I couldn't wear it anymore, I think my early teens." Kevin laughs.

If you haven't seen Kevin perform, it is one of many flavors. "I am a big fashion fan, Paris, Milan", he says. He stays somewhat current, and if you have seen him perform here in the past you know he always looks good. He has pulled away a little from his past "dark look" as he describes it. "I wear jeans now. I used to not give a fuck, but now I have to give a fuck," Kevin states. He goes on to explain how performing for more then just the gay community, rounding out his image helps others enjoy his energy filled show.

"Alive" is Kevin's most recent song. His other songs include: "Din Da Da", "Rhythm is my Bitch", and "Cunty." "Alive" is already in the top 10 on the Billboard charts and its release was just a few weeks ago. His music is not computerized jumble, 5 writers sat down to compose a song that would in the end be remixed by Victor Calderone, Junior Vasquez and more. Tony Moran produced the song. "I had this disco loop that made me feel good," Kevin says, "disco really makes me happy. I am a big beat driven person." The writers collaborated and brought us, "Alive". Kevin says that, "After 9-11 happened it changed my whole mind." A song with so much life is what we need.

I think that it is important to point out Kevin's newest venture in performing. At the Gay and Lesbian Business convention in NYC a few weeks ago Kevin sang live with his band. "It is a big step for me," he says, "I want people to know I have some musical talent." That is something Kevin does have. If you are interested in seeing Kevin perform you can go to his Website: KevinAviance.com He will be performing here in Florida so, check it out to see when and where!
