She
has been making a splash in the scene for a long time. With
her latest, "Dive in the Pool" on the soundtrack
of Showtime's Queer As Folk. We sat down with this
high energy wonder woman to find out what she is all about.
Miss Pepper MaShay has been involved with music and entertainment
for over 27 years. One of her greatest inspirations was Billy
Davis. A little background on the Diva; she has been performing
since she was 7 years old. She sang background vocals for
such greats as Celine Dion and Tina Turner to name a few.
It all started when she was a little girl with a "record
player". That record player would start her on a life
long adventure.
Pepper has traveled the world and then she finally took the
advice of her friends Tony Moran, Chris Cox , and Barry Harris.
When one of them said, "what about house music"
and from there she set off on her recording dream into house
music. We have heard her voice in the famous "MY MOMMA
SAID" from Abigail's "If it don't fit". Like
mamma said is exactly the sound the producers wanted to hear.
"Talk like mamma", give it Mamma's voice, Pepper
laughs and said, "we've all heard that voice". That
was one of many for Pepper, then came the show "Queer
As Folk".
Pepper has always been a supporter of the Gay and Lesbian
community, she has worked benefit AIDS, just recently PRIDE
Fest in Miami. But in May through July of 2000 the song "Dive
in the Pool", "exploded, all starting off at the
White Party" she said. Since then she has been back on
the road traveling all over performing. While traveling she
has been working on something new.
I asked Pepper what her favorite thing about performing was
and she said, " I love seeing peoples faces". I
really get the feeling talking with her that the audience
is her fuel and energy to perform just one step stronger then
the last. Pepper states that "the fan is the A#1 for
the artist". That shows so strongly in her LIVE performances.
If you are wondering what she is working on, she gave me a
hint... "It's the Pledge of Allegiance with jungle beat
set behind it. An appreciation for being American". If

After Words:
If there is anyone else out there that loves a "Real
Person" this woman is one of them, during the interview
all I could do is smile; she was so "in love" with
everyone and wanted to give so much to everyone that crosses
her path. Lets show our support and drop her a comment on
her site!
