LOS ANGELES
The Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles (www.gmcla.org)
is returning as the beneficiary for the 9th annual “Fred & Jason’s
Halloweenie” charity event presented by Brian Pendleton & Chad
Goldman. “Fred & Jason’s Halloweenie,” one of Los Angeles’
largest charity events, this year features an “Under the Big
Top” theme and is sure to be a one-of-a-kind celebration. Being
held on Saturday, October 25th, at the historic Los Angeles
Theatre, the night’s proceeds will support GMCLA’s programmatic
work, including the Alive Music Project, which brings GMCLA
performers to local schools in a unique music education outreach
program; it gets better, a musical theater collaboration
of GMCLA, Speak Theater Arts and the It Gets Better Project;
and Outside Voices, a youth chorus in partnership with LifeWorks
and directed by GMCLA staff.
“We are thrilled to once again be the beneficiary of ‘Fred and
Jason's Halloweenie’ and to welcome our new presenting sponsor,
Brian Pendleton and Chad Goldman. The incredible funds raised
by Halloweenie help us reach farther into local communities
providing them access to music, music education and unique perspectives
on being gay while addressing the issues of bullying. It's a
win-win-win situation,” said Chris Verdugo, executive director
of GMCLA.
“Fred & Jason’s Halloweenie” is an annual costume-required
event featuring the music of Grammy nominated DJ Dave Aude,
as well as DJ Jeremy Blacklow. Halloweenie will also feature
open bars, feverish dancing, celebs, killer photo opps, VIP
areas, private cabanas and more. This year's bash will be again
held at the famed Los Angeles Theatre, the ornate movie palace
in downtown Los Angeles.
With past celebrity guests like Adam Lambert, Lance Bass, Amy
Paffrath, Marissa Winokur, Rose McGowan, Neil Patrick Harris,
and Drew Barrymore, you won’t want to miss this unforgettable
night of frights! Additional proud “Fred & Jason’s Halloweenie”
sponsors include: Anawalt Lumber, Evian-Danone, Yellow Cab/Curb,
Capitol Drugs and PowerZone.
